Method 7

Del.icio.us seems like an awesome organization tool for catergorizing, labeling favorite sites.

I like that you can gain access to favorite sites of colleagues you work with and respect. This will be a real time saver when it comes to discovering good info.

This will be a great way to teach students about the K12 databases.

That is, if the site is note blocked!

Method 5

Online photo sharing possibilities are really overwhelming me! I can see opportunities for new "high tech" book reporting and literature extensions. What are the safety issues that I need to be aware of for students using this tool?

I think this is a great way to help me keep up with the latest library info.

Method 3

Right now, I am more cautious or skeptical about cloud computing because it is so new and overwhelming to me. (It brings back those very same feelings from when I first tackled "email" years ago!) However, I see many advantages such as working from anywhere and from a variety of devices, which are becoming more affordable and available every day. Such devices will only continue to be more affordable and available with each passing day. Another advantage that I see is that if libraries allow access a great deal of money can be saved by individuals as well as school districts.

I am cautious because the issues of privacy, trust and some cost factors have not yet been settled. I will need to become more familiar/comfortable with this before I can truly be an advocate. This situation makes me more empathetic with my technology department. Maybe now I can understand why they tend to just "block" new technologies. Things are changing so fast that it's hard to know whether to allow access and thus compromise safety.

Method 1 Web 2.0 and Library 2.0

Looking for a great read?

I'm always looking for the next great book to read. This blog will provide opportunities for sharing what's been read and loved and recommended to others. In addition, the "intended consequence" will be learning about and experiencing the exciting technologies available in Web 2.0.
